  After Olympian Marcus Popp took some time out of the national team in 2009 and started playing beach volleyball, the high jumping wing spiker returns to the national team. The Italian professional (Piacenca) is considered to be an all-round player, who has his strengths not only in defense, but also in attack and block although he is only 1.92m tall.
