In 1994, Marlon won the South American Championship with the Brazilian Youth team. Three years later, he earnt second place in FIVB Junior World Championship and won the Clubs South American Championship with Olympikus (RJ). He finished second in the Brazilian Superliga three times (99/00, 04/05 and 05/06). In 2008, he was called for the first time to the national team and played in the World League, where Brazil finished fourth. Marlon remained in the team in 2009 and won the World League, the World Grand Champions Cup and the South American Championship. A player of Vivo/Minas, Marlon won both the World League and the World Championship in 2010.
