Sidão came second in the Brazilian Superliga during the 2001/02 season and won the competition in 2005/06, when was named best blocker of the tournament. He has been a member of the team that won the last four Brazilian tittles in the World League (2006, 2007, 2009 and 2010) and also won the World Grand Champions Cup and the South American Championship in 2009. Last season, Sidao won the World Championship for the first time. He has played for Modena (ITA) but moved back to SESI-SP last season.
