The Pirates of the Carribean. Cuba slain Italy
Cuba beat Italy in the third game for both teams in World League Pool B. After a very tight first set the Italians won with the great performance of Alberto Cisolla (83% of efficiency rate) the Carribeans started to take the control of the game. Poey, Juantorena, Gonzalez were the key players in the second and third set. On the Italian side, not too many solutions in attacking and some problems in receiving. Too strong Cuba. The team did all the things you need to win. Solid in the attacking patterns, very efficient in defence. Simple things but very useful to win.

An incredible fought battle won by Serbia and Montenegro
If the match promised excitement, with both teams having lost the first two matches during the first weekend, tonight's had a very levelled start for both teams fighting point by point with neither team gaining the lead by more than a rally and just for a second. Only at the end of the first set Serbia & Montenegro got a two point difference that was immediately equalled by the local team, but the visitors after fighting fiercely earned by the minimum difference by 23-25. The second set, was a different story all together at the beginning with the locals gaining a three point difference but immediately the visitors levelled and thereafter the battle and the lead repetead first set story until the second technical time when many non-forzed errors on the local side gave a break to the visitors that widen to a two straight sets victory but Argentina with his clowns made a superb comeback that was not enough to take the match to a tie-break.
