Greece beats Spain after impressive comeback
Spain took the lead from the very beggining of the first set. The attacks by Guillermo Falasca and the clever setting by his older brother Miguel Angel Falasca gave locals a clear advantage that Greece could not recover, despite the efforts by captain Marios Gkiourdas and opposite Ravarik. The visiting squad made a final attempt to reduce the difference in the scoreboard at the end of the set, but spaniards kept the concentration and won the period with a tigh 26-24.

The 1-0 produced a relaxation in spanish playing. Greek squad took advantage of this situation and of the attacking errors of local players to impose a effective sequence of positive reception, settings and attacks that Spain could not follow. Greece dominated the period from beginning to end; the final 15-25 shows which team was in the court in the second set and which team wasn't.

The third set started with a exchange of fortunate spikes by both teams. However, after the second technical time out Spain disappeared. Greece set an unbeatable wall of blocks over the net that locals could not overpass. Then, the points started arriving only in visitors part of the scoreboard, and the edginess joined spaniards. Greece didn't let the momentum go, and put a 17-25 that gave them the lead 1-2 in the game.

Greece completed the comeback in the fourth set. The spikes by Ravarik and the blocks by both middle blockers were enough for visitors to overcome spaniards 16-25 and achieve the third consecutive victory, and the fourth consecutive defeats for spaniards in World League 2004.
