"I think that we did everything to present what we plan in our strategy on the court. However, we weren't able to answer to the attack of the Serbian and Montenegrin Team. That is how we lost with 3:1. We played vedry bad in the first two sets, improving in the third, but we weren't able to maintain the form. We congratulate the Team of Serbia and Montenegro that played so strongly. They are Olympic Champion and that should not be forgotten", said Pavel Pimienta, Captain of the Cuban Team.
Mr. Garcia Garcia Roberto commented: "Well, we had prepared tactics for today's match which our players did not play out. We started improving techinque in the second set and mproved service and block we won the third set. However, the key point is the experience of the Serbian and Montenegrin Team, as we weren't able to come with an answer for the fourth set. When we come back we'll try to analyze and make new strategy for tomorrow's match. Finally congratulations to the Team of Serbia and Montenegro."
Nikola Grbic, Captain of the Team of Serbia and Montenegro said: "I am satisfied that we won this match, proving our form that was expected in this period of our trianing and playing. The form went down in the third set, but we cannot be satisfied with this result, as the Cuban Team will play even stronger tomorrow and wse cannot relax on the result achieved today."
"We all saw today the technique of our Team which is still in the process of changing and that is how we lost the third set. That is expected in this phase of preparations. However, I am pleasantly surprised by the fact that they found the strength to come back and show a high level of playing, thus winning the match", commented Head Coach of the Team of Serbia and Montenegro.
