Vladimir Kuzyutkin: I’m really satisfied for the result and for what we showed on court

Bulgaria coach, Russian Vladimir Kuzyutkin

Samokov, Bulgaria, August 17, 2014 – Bulgaria enchanted their fans in Samokov Arena to get the highest step of the podium and access Group 2 the next year in the 2015 FIVB World Grand Prix. The 3-0 match was a serious hit, difficult to digest for Czech players.

Bulgaria coach Vladimir Kuzyutkin: I am very happy that we won this final match. I am really satisfied not only with the result but also with what my players showed on the  court. I said that Czech Republic team deserved to be in this final, but we did too. I think that they could play a lot better.  I am never comparing my players, we want to play like a team. Bulgaria should just try to match the best three teams in the world.

Bulgaria captain Strashimira Filipova: This win and this whole tournament could be one good gift for my upcoming birthday tomorrow. I am really happy that so many volleyball fans came here to support us, this really helped us. We followed the coach’s instructions and this led us to the good result. Now we have to prepare for the World Championship.

Czech Republic coach Carlo Parisi: Today wasn’t our day. We have a very young team and the lack of experience had a leading role in our performance. The season is over for us but I hope that in the future we will perform better. Congratulations to Bulgaria team for winning the promotion to play in second group of FIVB World Grand Prix. I hope that we will have this chance too.

Czech Republic captain Helena Havelkova:  It was a really tough game for us. We have to win such important matches. It is not easy to lose by this result, and by this point difference. I think that Bulgaria performed excellent in all the components and this is why they won this tournament.
