Croatia finish third in third group

Croatia celebrate their win of the third place in Group 3, World Grand Prix

Samokov, Bulgaria, August 17, 2014 - Croatia is the bronze team in the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Grand Prix Finals - Group 3 in Bulgaria. Red & Whites easily defeated Kazakhstan 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-17). There was no problem for Angelo Vercesi and his team to clinch a victory with every Croatian playing on top level. It was not hard for them to start 6-1 in the first set and keep the distance by the end. Jerkov, Milos, Fabris and Poljak scored 4 points each to keep the engine running and Tatyana Mudritskaya was the only, and not enough, hope for Kazakhstan to stay alive.

Just when it was looking that in the second this might happen, Samanta Fabris closed all light blue wishes for more. She put 6 kills and 4 blocks and left no Kazakhstan hope alive. Mudritskaya again and Anarkulova kept it close in the end of the set, but still Croatia pushed a little harder and finished it 25-22.

Fabris kept punishing in the third, seemingly to be the top scorer of the match, with 20 points just at the second technical time out. That was approximately the time when Kazakhstan gave up with no more strength left to oppose even lots of substitutions by Oleksandr Gutor. Jerkov, Senna Usic and again did the rest for the final 25-17.

Samanta Fabris scored 21 for the winners, and Mudritskaya - 12 for Kazakhstan.
