Makowski: 'Each lack of attention on our side caused trouble'

Poland's national team coach answering for some questions during press conference

Plock, Poland, August 11, 2013 - Poland's national team lost second match in their home while Japan earned an important 3-0 victory to remain unbeaten in the competition.

Saori Kimura (Japan captain): “It was a hard match for us, but also a good one, especially with so loud and fanatic Polish audience, which is their additional player. However, we are happy to win this struggle. By next week we are going back to Japan to play with such good opponents like Poland. Obviously, we want to win there as many matches as we can”.

Katarzyna Skowronska-Dolata (Poland captain): “First of all I would like to congratulate to Japan for this victory. They played very well in tactic, perfectly in serve and unbelievable in digs and defense. We did not perform as nice as we planned, we couldn't cope with from the beginning. We had some problems with some elements. I won't be sad, I'll do everything to rise up my team. Today's match was not fine, but I hope that we still will be focused on building this team and playing in China, hoping this defeat won't beat us mentally. This is the start of building this team and I hope being prepared well as team to the European Championships”.

Masayoshi Manabe (Japan coach): “Today we had a very good experience against Poland. It is always a good team, playing together and we used to play tough matches with them. Their strength and tall make each clash very efficient for us. Especially that we have to play tough matches in Japan”.

Piotr Makowski (Poland coach): “Congratulations to Japan, which is titled and strongest team than us, however there were some years ago matches when we defeated them. Obviously, there were also lost clashes, because it's a great rival, perfect in dig and defense, so each lack of attention on our side caused trouble. Japan dig each of our actions, being also good in counter attacks. The only one positive thing is that some young girls like Agnieszka Kakolewska, Monika Martalek, Maja Tokarska or Zuzanna Efimienko brought some international experience right now, which is priceless for them”.
