USA coach: 'Algeria has not quite as much experience'

Karch Kiraly and Kristin Lynn Hildebrand, Coach and Captain of USA Team in the Mix zone in Belgrade

Belgrade, Serbia, August 9, 2013 – The USA team had no trouble to score an easy 3-0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-11) in their opening match against the debutants from Algeria.

Algeria coach Saimani Aidad Eiddine: “We cannot be satisfied with this result, because we have to start playing important roles in the match, and today it was not the case. But, I must notice that we have started to react a little bit, and slowly but surely we are performing better in each match."

USA coach Karch Kiraly: “Algeria has not quite as much experience as the majority of other teams in this competition. This was a good opportunity for all of our athletes to play. We expect a battle from every single opponent. That is something we have to deal with. We respect everyone."

Algeria captain Muni Abderrahim:“We have played against a great team, and it is good for our experience. We improved a lot since the first weekend, and I am satisfied. I think we will play even better tomorrow."

USA captain Kristin Lynn Hildebrand: “It was a good start for our team for this weekend. We have some tough matches coming up, and it is good that we have finished this match swiftly. Everybody contributed tonight and all of the players did a good job."
