We need to improve our service-reception more: Lang Ping

Cuba coach Juan Carlos Gala Rodriguez congratulates China coach Lang Ping on their win

Macau, China, August 3, 2013 – China collected their second World Grand Prix win on Saturday – 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-15) over Cuba – after coach Lang Ping asked her players to be more daring on court and to improve their service and receiving.

Cuba captain Daymara Lescay Cajigal: “In the match today, there were many mistakes from our side. We hope to continue to improve in the coming matches.”

Cuba coach Juan Carlos Gala Rodriguez: “I want to congratulate China for their play this afternoon. Their serve was extremely good and they took control of the match. Our players are still searching for their way in the team; we need to improve and have yet to find the best formation for our team.”

China captain Zhang Lei: “We played with good organization and put in a stable performance on both our serve and reception, and we played to our level in setting.”

China coach Lang Ping: “There were two requirements for my team in today’s match: to improve in reception and service as we did not perform well in these areas yesterday. I asked my players to be more daring on court, to focus on their techniques, to bring out their form and to play as if they were in training. In today’s match, the players were able to execute the requirements well. We were more consistent in our play but there are still instabilities in our service-receiving and I hope to see more improvements in this area.”
