Peru Coach Luca Cristofani, “This tournament allows us to know where we are and what we need to improve on. When we go back to our country, we would need to work especiallyon passing, servicing, rotation and attacking. We aim to take this experience to get to the level where we can excel in the upcoming South American Championship.”
Peru Captain Elena Keldibekova, “Congratulations to Germany. They are a difficult rival for us. We are happy to win one set. We believe if we continue with this good level of playing, we will win more matches in the future.”
Germany Coach Giovanni Guidetti, “This has been a tight match. We learned from Peru as they set a good example of good sports spirit. We especially appreciate Peru’s persistence throughout the game. Although we won the match, I am disappointed with our team’s performance as they did not learn that they do not have enough talent to excel if they do not stretch themselves to their one hundred percent.”
When being asked about whether there are anything in common between the coaches of the two teams, who are both from Italy, he said he simply does not know unless the question is addressed to a player who has been trained by both of them. He praised the Peru coach for giving good guidance to both his previous team in Italy and this young Peru National Team.
Germany Captain Christine Furst, “This is an incredible match. Peru played the second set in an amazing way. We did not act up so quickly after winning the first set. Both teams fought hard, point by point. We thank Peru for this incredible match.”
