Italy
coach Massimo Barbolini: "Today,
I'm really happy with the result because for us it was important to
win against the Dutch team. It's another step for our goal to arrive
in the Final 6 in Ningbo. The first set was very tough, but after
that we played better in the second half of the sets. Now we have to
think about the match tomorrow against Japan; it will be a very
difficult match"
(Re.
Setter Eleonora Lo Bianco) "Lo Bianco hasn't played some matches
because she has a little problem. If tomorrow she has no problem, she
will play. Rondon plays sometimes to get experience and she's doing
very well."
Italy
captain Eleonora Lo Bianco: "I
think today it was very important to win this game. Against the
Netherlands I think we played a good game. We tried to serve very
hard and we blocked and defended very well I think. Now we have to
think about tomorrow's game against Japan."
"I
haven't played against Japan this year, but I like to play against
this team; I like the way they play. So, I hope to play a very good
game."
Netherlands
coach Avital Selinger: "Congratulations
to Italy for the win. I think the first set we were OK. In the second
and third sets up to around 10 points we were even and from that
moment on we were not able to cope. Italy played consistently at the
same level, while we went down and had too many unforced errors. I
hoped we would be able to play for longer and keep up with Italy. We
must put the match behind us and concentrate on tomorrow's match and
try to do better than today."
Netherlands
captain Manon Flier: "Congratulations
to the Italy team. I think in the first set we had some chances;
unfortunately, we didn't take them. In the second and third sets
especially we didn't have enough pressure with our serve and they had
a lot of pressure. Due to too many unforced errors we let Italy play,
so we couldn't reach our own level. I'm quite disappointed in the way
we played. There were some nice parts, but we could have played
better."
Netherlands
No. 14 Laura Dijkema: "In
the first set we had chances, but we let Italy play and I think we
could have played better."
