China Head Coach Wang Baoquan: it was a very difficult match

Thailand coach Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai: “Congratulations to the China team. They really performed very well. We tried our best to improve our skills and techniques. We have learnt a lot and tried to minimise our mistakes. China team turned back very strongly after the first set and was very powerful in all their attacks and defense. I wish them all the best and good luck in the coming matches!”

Thailand captain Wilavan Apinyapong: “Congratulations to China team’s victory. This is indeed a very good game for both teams. China team’s strategies were very good and they came back from behind strongly. Today’s match is a very good opportunity for us to learn!”

China coach Wang Baoquan: “It was a very difficult match, especially in the first two sets. They failed to defend the attacks of the Thai team. The team was very confused which led to the big gap in the score. We had to catch up point by point. Throughout the match, we managed to find out the weaknesses and the team gradually improved. Turning the game around depends on the whole team instead of a single player, especially the more experienced players since the younger players might perform well in one match but may not be the same in the next one, as it takes time to groom and train them.”

China captain Wei Qiuyue: “The Thai team played very well and gave us a lot of pressure in the beginning. We have been preparing for this match for the last two weeks, yet there are still problems existing. We hope to play better in tomorrow’s match.”
