Thai coach praises Puerto Rico for their gutsy display

Thai head coach Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai, second from left, praises Puerto Rico for their gutsy display against the home side.

Puerto Rico
Team captain Vilmarie Mojica
"We did a lot of mistakes, especially on serving and attacking skills. I hope my team will develop our skill for the next matches against Italy and the USA. The next match against Italy will be very tough. I hope my team will do our best."

Team head coach Carlos Cardona
"Congratulations to Thailand for the win. We could not match them today. They came up with an improved form, while my girls played badly with unforced mistakes. Our attacking did not live up to my expectation. We need more improvement to play much stronger rivals in the remaining two matches here."

Thailand
Team captain Wilavan Apinyapong
"It's good to win our first match in this year's World Grand Prix. In some crucial situations, we did not play well. I think my team have to improve on the mistakes we made. We next take on the USA. They are very strong, but I think we want to play them. We will try our best."

Team head coach Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai
"Puerto Rico played with spirit and guts against us. Despite the fact that we had a large crowd of supporters cheering on us all the times, the Puerto Ricans still played well. They intended to come up with a great play against us. I believe that they will become one of the world's strong teams to be reckoned with in the near future. I wish Puerto Rico the bright future and success in the remaining matches."
