Gdynia, Poland, August 7, 2010 - Germany scored their second win of the 2010 FIVB World Grand Prix posting a 3-1 (25-23, 25-23, 16-25, 25-23) win over the USA in Gdynia, Poland.
USA's Destinee Hooker topped the scores with 24 points.
The first set was very even from the beginning as the Americans took the lead. However Germany pulled back at 19-all and following a number of attacking errors from the U.S. Germany picked up the first set.
Both teams started the second determined and the American's defense helped them take the lead. However, the U.S. made more unforced errors to allow Germany to take a 2-0 lead.
The USA cut out the errors in the third and took an easy lead at 17-10. The Germans played a lot less efficiently and the USA took full advantage, pulling a set back.
Germany's block was the main difference in the fourth set and despite bringing the scores even at 10-all Germany edged the Americans to take the match.
On Sunday the USA will play Poland, and Germany will face Dominican Republic.
