Team profile

China National Women’s Volleyball Team has a time-honored history. The side won the 1984 and 2004 Olympic Games as well as the 1982 and 1986 FIVB World Championships. It’s first title however came at the 1981 FIVB World Cup, a feat they followed up on in 1985 and 2003.

In 2010, there were some adjustments in this team. Wang Baoquan became the coach and many new players had been recruited to the team. The goal of the new side is to eventually win the gold medal at the 2012 London Olympic Games.

The new team will inherit and carry forward the older generation’s tradition which is hard-work, arduous struggle and the persistence to strive for success. They will work hard to improve their skills and try their best to be in the top four at the 2010 FIVB World Championships. We believe that under the lead of the new coach, China is bound to enhance their strength and create brilliant achievements.
