Guidetti: I am proud of my team

Press Conference

GERMANY

Head Coach Giovanni Guidetti: I have to thank all my players and staff because this is not the first time they have really surprised me. My players and me were very disappointed after losing to Russia yesterday because we lost a big chance to be in the best three of the Grand Prix. But my team went out in the court with great concentration, great motivation and great desire because they were very, very angry about yesterday. I am really proud to be their coach. I told them before the game that I would be proud if we won or lost against a team like China, because we have been on the road since May 25 and they have fought for every ball to the very end.

Captain Christiane Furst: China is a young team and it is great for them that they can play in the Final Round. We played this match with great concentration, and my team has done a lot of good things and improved always, and for this I am really, really happy.

Margareta Kozuch: We are really happy about today because after the match yesterday and against Holland because we knew we could do better. The World Grand Prix has been a long way for us and I am proud to have arrived here.

CHINA

Head Coach Cai Bin: Today was our worst game in Tokyo.  Before today it was the first game against Holland but today we did not concentrate on the game very well but I do not want to go into the reasons why and say we are a young team or something like that. We need to raise our level up and have to think more and practice more. We have to improve many points.

Captain Wei Qiuyue: The serve and over-the-net reaction of the German team is very good. We missed some important chances.  We could not play as we planned.

Ma Yunwen: We lost the game because we made some mistakes. Our serve did not work, and besides the German team was good at serve, block and attacking. We could not receive the ball and we could not block their spikes. We felt a lot of pressure from the German team.
