China Head Coach Cai Bin
We sincerely congratulate Netherlands. They are an excellent team both in terms of skills and tactics, and they respond really fast to their opponent in the court. Their defense is comparable to that of Asian teams.
Comparing performance of yesterday and today
We were better today in terms of psychological adjustment and had better preparation
Playing in the Final Round in Japan
We treasure every opportunity to play and improve ourselves. We will strive to attain the best result based on the current foundations.
China Captain Wei Qiuyue
Congratulations to Netherlands on winning in this Pool. They gave us a valuable opportunity to advance ourselves. We noticed a number of shortcomings of our team and hope to further improve ourselves through forthcoming matches.
Netherland Coach Avital Selinger
We started a little bit slower. China is great in every aspect. Their percentage of success in serve and attack is high. We had a difficult time to cope with their swiftness. I would like to congratulate China for winning the game.
We’ll get ready for the next match.
Losing for the first time in FIVB World Grand Prix 2009
Losing is a part of the game. Everybody plays to win. We learn more when we lose. There’s always the first time.
Compared with the game lost to China in June
We played much better this time. In the first two sets, it took us a while to get the rhythm of the play. Perhaps when you’re winning so much, some players of the teams are thinking ahead and forget to concentrate on the match.
China should get the credit today. They had a rough match against Poland yesterday, they came back strong and determined.
We will do better.
Chance to beat China in Japan
Sports always have winner and loser. Winning is not coming first, execution comes first. We should concentrate on how to play better to put ourselves into the position to win. This time China comes better.
Any strategy to play against China team?
No. Do you expect me to disclose it here?
Netherland Captain Manon Filer
Congratulations to China. They played very well. We started behind a little bit. In the third set, we played more of our own game. We were able to control the play of China with blocks. Our defense is better.
Expectation on receiving the MVP Award
I never expected win individual award. We play together as a team. But it’s nice to get an individual award and I’m proud of it.
