Netherlands give credits to Thailand for their progress

The captains and head coaches at the press conference after the final game

- It wasn’t easy game for us and we didn’t perform as well as we expected but we are happy to gain the victory in the whole tournament – says Manon Flier, the Dutch team captain.

Thailand captain Wilavan Apinyapong: „I would like to congratulate the Dutch team because they played a very good match. They have a very strong, well organized team and good system of play. We learned a lot of things from them and will try to use those experiences in the next games.”

Netherlands captain Manon Flier: „From the beginning we knew that it would be a tough game and when we don’t start the match aggressively we could have problems. And it was difficult at the start. Fortunately later on we changed some things in our play and first of all started to play more aggressively. I’m a little bit disappointed about our level of play today but of course I’m happy that we won.”

Thailand Head Coach Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai: „First of all, congratulations for the Dutch team which played a very good match today. This was very important experience for us as we learned a lot of things. They played excellent in block, service and counter-attacks. Their system of play was mature. Our players tried very hard but it wasn’t easy to play against such a good team. I wish the Dutch team all the best and qualification to the Final Round. At the end I would like to thank the organizers for the great hospitality and warm support by the Polish fans. ”

Netherlands Head Coach Avital Selinger: „I would like to thank Poland again for great hospitality. They created very nice atmosphere and good conditions for all teams to play great, high level volleyball. I would like to compliment Thailand which showed very consistent volleyball, combination and powerful attack and excellent defense. I give them credits for their performances in Kielce. It wasn’t easy for us to win against them. It’s obvious that they made a big progress since last years. ”
