Dominican Republic got the first victory!
The relatively experienced Germany team was defenseless and could not grasp the opportunity to take control of the set at the start of the game. The Dominican Republic player #15, Cosiri Rodriguez Andino de hammered the Germany team vigorously and broke the concrete blockings of Germany. Germany roared back against the Dominican Republic and led 5 points before the second technical timeout. Germany restored after the timeout called by their head coach and finished the set at 25:21.

Dominican Republic managed to dominate the set by demonstrating a succession of powerful serves and harsh spikes.
