Italy defeats Germany with three straight sets
At the very beginning of the first set, the Germany and Italy teams played point to point without giving each other a pause. Italy tried to catch up with concrete blocks and powerful attacks. Italy gained the match by leading 5 points with sparkling performance of #9, Nadia Centoni.

Italy was able to show their way in the second set with distinguished teamwork and beautiful attacks. It was definitely an uneasy time for the Germany team. Though Germany fought very hard and remained courageous, Italy still won the set by two points with a relatively stable performance.

Under the pressure of losing two sets, Germany tried to strengthen their attack. Despite their leading advantage, Italy maintained their utmost concentration and demonstrated a few strong and solid defence. After the time out called by Germany, performance was obviously boosted, both in their reception and attack. Germany's spirit and confidence allowed them to reach their peak in the game and Italy was only one point ahead of Germany. The competition between the two teams was very keen towards the end of the game and Italy finished the game with 26 to 24.
