World Grand Prix 2005 - Press Conference

Press conference

China beat Japan 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-23) - duration 1:33
18-Jul, start time: 18:00, end time: 19:33 - Attendance: 8'600
City: Sendai; Hall : Sendai City Gymnasium
SHOICHI YANAGIMOTO (JAPAN HEAD COACH): "Prior to the match I thought that if our serve reception was good and effective we could play a close game, but it was not as good as I had expected. After the second technical time-out in each set I think our concentration let us down, and we could not find any momentum."

MIYUKI TAKAHASHI (JAPAN No. 5): "Our serve reception is always the key factor against China, and today we did not do so good. The Best Scorer award is an award for not only me but for other players because they supported me. But I am very proud and moved to win it."

CHEN ZHONGHE (CHINA HEAD COACH): "Both Japan and China played at a high level. Japan was very quick in their attacking and we could not win many points from our block."

FENG KUN (CHINA No. 2, CAPTAIN): "We served very well today. Japan tried to hang in there so we were unable to build a comfortable cushion."
