Press conference

China beat Germany 3-0 (25-23, 25-15, 25-23) - duration 1:18
09-Jul, start time: 15:30, end time: 16:48 - Attendance: 7'800
City: Hong Kong; Hall : Hong Kong Coliseum
China, Head Coach, Chen Zhonghe

The performance was just average today. They were too slow warming up and made many errors and mistakes especially in blocking and spiking. We were too passive that the German had put us under attack. Our #1Wang, Yimei and #4Liu, Yanan were not performing up to expectation.

Their performances fluctuated throughout the game. Yet, they managed to catch up towards the end and played better.

For the match against Italy tomorrow, we will certainly try our very best to win the game.

The German team did very well in attacking, defence as well as blocking. They are improving, playing better than the previous matches.

We could win in the first and third sets because of the excellent performance of #5 Chu, Jinling and #18 Zhang, Ping.

China, team captain, Feng Kun
Our performance was not satisfactory today. We warmed up too slowly and hence we could not engage ourselves fully in the beginning. We should concentrate more in the coming match.

We will try our best in the coming match against Italy tomorrow. It is difficult to predict the results, yet what we are concerned most is our performance in the match.

Germany, Head Coach, Lee Hee Wan

Congratulations to the China team. We strived hard in each set but still could not get a set. Our team is still young without much experience. China is a strong and mature team.

Germany, team player #11, Christine Fuerst
It was a great match. We played good in the first and third sets. We had a chance to win, but we failed to make it as we were not stable throughout the match.
