China got the second champion in World Grand Prix 2005 after defeating Brazil in straight sets in Macau leg
Match Description Report
Fighting for the champion in the Macau leg, both teams eagered to take the lead in the 1st set, tighting the points at 7:7, 11:11. But then China got the pace and took the second technical time-out at 16:12 and forcing Brazil to call time-out again at 12:18. With Yang Hao's clever attack and well form tactics, China kept the margin on the score at 21:17, 23:19. Though the powerful open spikes of Paula Pequeno assisted Brazil to rebound back at 22:24, China gained the set at 25:22, with Ma YunWen's quick spike.

However, the Brazilian got high spirit as usual to put pressure on China in the beginning of the 2nd set, leading them at 8:5, 13:11. But then with the remarkable performance of Liu Yannan and Chu Jinling, who was sent to replace the young player Wang Yimei, China controlled back the set with the score at 16:14, 21:19 and eventually finishing it at 25:21.

In the 3rd set, taking advantage of several mistakes like reception error of Brazil, China kept leading until 10:8. Although being fought back by the opponent during the middle of the set, China took back the rhythm soon under the leadership of the captain Feng Kun. Eventually, with stable exploit of the tactics and brilliant attacks of both open spikers, the Olympic champion won the match by finishing the set at 25:20.
