JPN beat a long rival of Asian family KOR in straight sets
JPN began with two straight serve aces to start with and continued dominant plays over KOR. However, KOR strongly fought back in front of 5000 home fans, catching up to 20:20 from 6: 16 down. But KOR needed a little more detailed recovery skills to finish the set, but was not so in the first set.
JPN continued to demonstrate their stable plays. Excellent setting distributional strategies with accuracy run by the 'smallest setter' #3(Yoshie Takeshita) of JPN made rather 'shorty' two JPN power hitters #5(Miyuki Takahashi) and #6(Kaoru Sugayama) so effective. They were so fast and sharp in their moving attacks on both left and right, which made KOR middle blockers and diggers at a lost..
In the 3rd set, KOR battled hard to fight back, especially with #14(HAN, Song-Yi) on the power side, #8(HWANG, Youn-Joo) on the right, and #13(JUNG, Dae-Young) in the middle. However, their power and speed in spiking were not heavy and sharp enough to overcome a dynamic movement of JPN's defensive system.
KOR in overalll were not yet enough and nor refined to compete comparatively with a long rival of JPN.
