A winning service series by Kathy Radzuweit gave Germany the chance to clinch Italy on the score of 17-17. Christin Guhr gave the first German advantage of the entire set. Then a block by Jenny Barazza, a pushed ball by Eleonora Lo Bianco and a Serena Ortolani winning attack took Italy to a set point converted in a heavy 2-0 by another german serving mistake.
The third set Italy went ahead in the score +4 finalizing some problems in the German receiving skills. Italy touched a +5 but some mistakes gave Germany the opportunity to come back in the score. Only a powerful attack by Jenny Barazza mantain Italy 2 points ahead at the second time out call. Germany took the lead right after to continue the tight battle an Italian block by Serena Ortolani turned on the home side. Germany came back 22-22. But at the end some mistakes on the German side opened Italy the road for a well deserved success.
