Cuba straight over Domenican Republic for the Caribbean derby
Cuba helped the good start Dominican Republic had in the first set. In fact an incredible series of mistakes give Francisco Cruz team the opportunity to built a five point margin before the first technical timeout. In the middle of a very faulty game, the music did not change. The Dominican Republic took the chance of an incredible drop of concentration to build a platform to win the set but the Cuban fighting spirit produce a huge comeback that opened the road to clinch the period (28-26).
The second set lived on a tight score until Francisco Cruz team earned a mini-break before the first technical time out. Cuba recovered the gap and took the lead just before the second technical time out. Three points in a row with a good receiving skills put Cuba in the total control of a period they won easily 25-17.
Cuba increased their efficiency rate in blocking at the beginning of the third set. Just in time to cancel the smart beginning of the set build by the Francisco Cruz team and to live the first technical time out 4 points ahead in the score. If in the first set they suffered a little bit, the music sounds different in the other two periods with Cuba there to control the Dominicans with the mind at the next match against Italy.
