World Grand Prix 2005 - Press Conference

Press conference

U.S.A. beat Thailand 3-0 (25-13, 25-12, 25-22) - duration 1:04
25-Jun, start time: 20:00, end time: 21:04 - Attendance: 7'850
City: Ningbo; Hall : Ningbo Beilun Gym
Thailand head coach Chanbunchee Sutichai: We played under our usual standard today, we will just try our best to play better tomorrow.
We did not serve very well and allowed the United States play very aggressively.

Sangmuang Patcharee (Thailand): We made a lot of mistakes, especially in receiving, in first two sets, which made it difficult t for us to get our attack going and gave the United States a lot of opportunities to block us. Generally speaking, we did not play as well as we expected.

Lindsey Berg (the United States): This was a good win for us and it gave us a lot of confidence, especially after a slow start against the Netherlands yesterday. Thailand played a lot better in every aspect in the third set while we struggled both in defense and offense. But the important thing is that we were able to win at last and we are very happy about the result.

U.S. head coach Lang Ping: Our players have trained together for a very short period of time, thus I told them to try to decrease errors before the match. I am happy that they did what I told them to do today.

We improved our serving today and took advantage of our height to do well in blocking. Thai players have very good skills, but they do have a disadvantage in height.
