24-Jun, start time: 20:00, end time: 20:58 - Attendance: 2'000
City: Reggio Calabria; Hall : Palacalafiore
Francisco Cruz (Rep. Dominicana - coach)
Italy put on the field a very effective defence. I think that the key of the match is on the quality of the blocks and on the continuity in the defensive situation. We tried to to our best but it wasn't the right day. We need to improve our game. That is only a step and even with a loss we need to born again.

Esmeralda Mercedes (Rep. Dominicana - captain)
Italy is a very strong team and most of all a very young team. They have all the condition to play good and very effective volleyball. We suffered their dynamic volleyball more than we expected. But you know, you learn from the defeats. And that is a good point to restart to develop our team.

Marco Bonitta (Italy - coach)
It was a much easier match than the one we expected. I've seen the Caribbean team in the past and they really impressed me. Today it was a bad day for them. Italy play at their standards without not many mistakes. Now we have to concentrate for the match against Germany that is very difficult.

Eleonora Lo Bianco (Italia - captain)
Our team is a young one but very well put toghether. This success gave us confidence. Maybe the match could be more competitive. They are a good team but today they did not show all their potential. Italy on the other side played a good standard in blocking and defence.
