Tara Cross-Battle (USA captain):
"Today we showed a lot of character after yesterday's disappointing loss. We are very pleased about our performance today, after the the hard fight against Brazil."

Yumilka Ruiz (Cuba captain):
"We played badly today, I don't know what was our problem. Sometimes it happens without a real reason. Our team is improving more and more. Today's performance was due to a lack of experience because we are a very young team. We have to work hard towards the Olympic Games."

Toshiaki Yoshida (USA head coach):
"We did well after last night's tough, long match. We managed to play very well against Cuba but we need to improve in focussing towards Athens 2004."

Luis Felipe Calderon (Cuba head coach):
"I want to congratulate USA for their performance. They deserved to win. They played with good combinations, completely different to what we did,. We hope to find our concentration again in time for the Olympics Games."
