Tara Cross-Battle (USA captain):
"Today we fought very hard and we just came out at the wrong end. We are very proud of our team today and that's a good sign for us."

Fernanda Venturini (Brazil captain):
"Overall we played very well, especially in digging. It was a hard clash. Both teams were at a very high level. We fought every point. We are satisfied to win another difficult match in this important event."

Toshiaki Yoshida (USA head coach):
"Brazil is a very strong team. We already lost against them in Japan. We had worked to improve, but it wasn't enough to beat them."

Jose Guimaraes (Brazil head coach):
"This win is a great gift for my birthday. USA are very strong, and we needed to play at our best to win, with spirit and concentration. Bia's and Fofao's entries were essential to reach a good result tonight, as Sassa was impressive in the tie-break. Cuba is improving and Italy has experienced players, both are strong. If I could choose, I would prefer Italy, because we already played against Cuba, but we haven't played against Italy, and it would be important to cope with them before the Olympics."
