World Grand Prix 2004 - Press Info

Press conference

U.S.A. beat China 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-20) - duration 1:21
29-Jul, start time: 17:05, end time: 18:26 - Attendance: 820
City: Reggio Calabria; Hall : Palapentimele hall
Kun Feng (China captain):
"Our attacks were for the first time not so powerful. We didn't dig and receive as we usually do. Even in blocking we were not so good. Yesterday against Italy we had a better combination among us. Today we had many problems and we don't know why."

Tara Cross-Battle (USA captain):
"We are pleased with our performance today. We played very well as a complete team. We were determineted to win. And now we are focusing on Italy, our next opponents. I think our good combinations between setters and spikers was our best weapon. We worked very hard in spiking. It helps us a lot today."

Chen Zhonghe (China head coach):
"Our attacks were not as effective as last night. We had a lack of concentration and coordination between the players."

Toshiaki Yoshida (USA head coach):
"I think that China played badly tonight, but we played very well. Tonight's win is very important for us. Our tatical plan and their mistakes made for a good performance today."
