Fernanda Venturini (Brazil captain): "We started the match well, but Cuba was very fast, and at the end we lost the control of the situation and Cuba won the match. The difference was due to their very strong attack and digging."
Yumilka Ruiz (Cuba captain): "We had some problems at the beginning against a great team in Brazil, but we played a great match and managed to win. We are still working to reach our best."
Josè Guimaraes (Brazil head coach): "They were very strong. The match was very tight. We had many problems in digging and serving. We were ahead in the tie-break but we lost crucial points for this reason. Virna had some problems before the match, and she didn't play at her normal level, especially on receiving."
Luis Calderon (Cuba head coach): "Both teams were very tense playing this match. We practised a lot in an effort to learn how to cope with Brazil's play and powerful serving. It was a very difficult match. In the final set we were more concentrated than Brazil and that's why we got the victory."
