Brazil coach Jose Guimaraes: I think we played very well. We served hard, blocked well and played good defense. We had eight wins and three losses here, but I'm not appy with the rules for this event. I think it is dangerous for volleyball.

 You have to be Einstein to understand the point system. It should be like football where it is clear - three points for a win, one point for a draw. To punish one team is dangerous and unbelievable.

We were continuously learning here. It is tough for the players to play in four different venues and we had some injuries. I think we can look forward to a high level for the Olympics next year.

Dominican Republic coach Marcos Kwiek: We made a balanced performance here. We have improved from 10th, to ninth, to eighth in the last three World Cups. We need to improve the system for this tournament. We will finish behind teams that won fewer games. I am satisfied with our showing here because we had many injuries.

Brazil captain Fabiana Claudino: I think we played a good match. We played with ease. We served and blocked well. I don't feel we reached what we aimed for, however. But we have learned from this experience. We will pull together for the Olympics next year.

Brazil player Paula Pequeno: I feel we had a good rhythm from the start, especially against a strong team like the Dominican Republic. We served well and took advantage of their mistakes.

Dominican Republic captain Milagros Cabral:I want to congratulate Brazil. The Dominican team has reached its goal here with an eighth-place finish in the World Cup.
