Service was our key and motivation: coach Tietbohl

German captain Jennifer Geerties talks to the media at the postgame press conference in Mexicali with coach Jens Tietbohl beside her.

Mexicali, Mexico, October 6, 2013.- German coach Jens Tietbohl remarked how important was to work with a solid serving strategy against Kenya to achieve their first win at FIVB Women’s U23 World Championship.

Jens Tietbohl, coach of Germany: Service was the key for our first victory here in this match. It gave us a good motivation and We feel a lot of respect for the way Kenya tried to go on.

Sammy Mulinge, coach of Kenya: We struggled with our reception but tried to make more points. We went against a great team like Germany with good block. We had some problems, missed some points, but improved in some other things and expect to improve slowly.

Gaudencia Makokha, captain of Kenya: The match was not as tough as the first one. We made some mistakes but I feel we did some good things.

Jennifer Geerties, captain of Germany: We are satisfied. We played good with all the fundamentals. Service was good and we put a lot of pressure in Kenya’s reception.
