Cuba’s best weapon was Rosanna Giel, who tallied 16 points (with 2 blocks and 2 aces) and Jennifer Alvarez finished with 12.

The team coached by Jiande Xu worked hard in the blocking game to prevent the Cuban attack.

It resulted for the Chinese that had a 7-4 final advantage and also served more aces than the Caribbean squad  (11-6) with five by setter and captain Di Yao, while Jennifer Alvarez aced 3.

Points by error were the key. Cuba surrendered 21 and China only 9 to their rivals. China is 3-0 and Cuba 0-3.

Despite the score, the las two sets were too tight after a four and two points difference in the second and third. Cuba let go very important points that maybe could give them the chance to force a fourth set after showing good defense in the final numbers.

Cuba digged the ball with 17 excellent plays against 12 by China. But Di Yao had a succesfull setting performance by excelling 13 times that made easier to the Chinese squad to recover.

The Cubans will look for their first victory on Tuesday when they face Kenya. China will match USA and Germany will play against Brazil. One of the undefeated nations will lose their winning streak.
