Aussies going home with a smile and a massive evolution

Australian coach Grant Robertson hopes this will spur his boys with confidence

Jordan Richards, Australia player: "It's really nice to get a win. We already knew we were out of the top eight so this was our goal today. We definitely grew up throughout the whole tournament, from each match we took something and we put it all together."

Grant Robertson, Australia coach: "I feel very happy for the boys. They have come up after playing four games without getting a result and they've worked a lot. Hopefully, this will act as a bit of a spur for them to realise they can win at an international level. They have shown a massive evolution here and the most important thing it's that some of them are not too far of the senior team."

Juan Revuelta, Mexico player: "A big quality of our team is the heart, the spirit we have to play this game, and today we started without that passion. We regained it from the third set on, but there we failed on some balls and that was it. We have learnt a lot here. Now we know what we're dealing and what we have to do."

Jorge Miguel Azair Lopez, Mexico coach: "We started the game looking for a better block, with taller players, but we failed in reception. There we decided to change and secure that area, and also we improved our attitude. I'm satisfied with the boys, we're starting a development process and I think we're right on track."
