Brazil stay unbeaten and on track for final four

Middle blocker Matheus Cunda scored nine points, five from blocks

Uberlandia, Brazil, October 8, 2013 - Brazil stayed unbeaten in pool play at the Men's U23 World Championship with a 3-0 (21-9, 21-15, 21-16) win against Egypt on day three of competition at the Arena Presidente Tancredo Neves.

Brazil, without captain Lucarelli, started very efficiently, combining a low error rate with good attacking and net defence. Middle blocker Matheus Cunda supplying five points as Brazil took the set 21-9.

The second set was much closer as Brazil's error count rocketed from just one in the first set to nine in the second. Wing spiker Ahmed Elkotb was doing his best to make the most of the opportunity for Egypt, but Lucas Loh was more prominent in attack as Brazil won the second set 21-15.

Brazil controlled their errors better in the third set and improved their attacks which made it very difficult for Egypt to challenge. Lucas was again important and finished as Brazil's top scorer in the match with 11 points.

Egypt earned just three blocking points in the match, compared to five alone for Brazil's Cunda, and while Elkotb claimed 10 points for Egypt, it wasn't enough to make a significant dent.

Day four of competition is the penultimate round of matches with pool A's unbeaten teams Brazil and Bugaria meeting, while Egypt face Argentina.
