FIVB Volleyball Girls' U18 World Championship

Press release

After each set my players concentrated more on the game - coach Nafarzadeh

It was hard for the coaches to motivate their players after yesterday's quarterfinal losses

Ankara, Turkey, August 31, 2013 – Argentina started well in the sets, but Iran were better in the end to shut out their opponents by 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 28-26) at the FIVB Volleyball Men's U21 World Championship in Ankara.  These are the post-game statements of the two teams’ coaches and captains.

Fabian Muraco, coach of Argentina: “First, I congratulate Iran. I do not have many comments about the match. They were better than us today. We do not know what is going to happen in our next match. We will see it tomorrow.”

Fernando Arpajou, captain of Argentina: “We started well in the sets. However, we could not manage to win at the end of the sets. Iran played better than us today. We played against them before and they won as well. They have experience. We are going to do our best in the last match of the championship.”

Farhad Nafarzadeh, coach of Iran: “I want to congratulate both teams for this good match, because both teams were defeated yesterday, but they came out today and played a good quality match. I am happy for winning this match. After each set, my players concentrated more on the game and they used their chances to win.”

Javad Hosseinabadi, captain of Iran: “We knew Argentina and how they played before. They are a good team. They started better than us in the first set. But we gathered our strength and managed to win the match. We are happy.”
