FIVB Volleyball Girls' U18 World Championship

Press release

The key point of the tournament was our loss against the Dominican Republic, says Colombia captain

We worked hard the last four months and expected more than the 13th place, said Colombia captain Andrea Estrada.

Brno, Czech Republic, June 30, 2013 – Colombia prevailed 3-0 over a mild Egyptian team who could hardly find their rhythm. We won today but I do not feel satisfied at all, said Colombia captain Andrea Estrada.

Colombia coach Mauro Marasciulo: We used this game to let all the actors play. Egypt could have been weaker but anyway, we had to play with respect. It meant to play hard.

Colombia captain Andrea Estrada: We won today but I do not feel satisfied at all. We worked hard the last four months and expected more than the 13th place. The key point of the tournament was our loss against the Dominican Republic.

Egypt coach Hesham Badrawy: It was our eighth match in ten days. Moreover, we were very exhausted after our game versus Algeria. We hoped to finish 13th but Colombia was the better team today. We accept the standing even if we were trying to be on a better place than on the 14th.

Egypt captain Farida El Askalany: First, we were very exhausted from the previous matches today. Then we were a little bit depressed due to the revolution in our country, especially today. That is why our performance wasn’t as well as it could be today.
