Brazil finish on top of Pool C with perfect record

Brazil celebrate their flawless campaign in Pool C with a perfect record (4-0 matches, 12-1 sets).

Brno, Czech Republic, June 25, 2013 – World No. Brazil stormed to a 25-11, 25-11, 26-24 over Bulgaria to conclude their first round campaign at 2013 FIVB Women’s U20 World Champs flawlessly (4-0). The young Bulgarians could not take advantage of their set ball in the third set when Brazil coach Luizomar De Moura gave several new players the chance to shine.

Brazil’s Sara topped the scorers with 15 points while Silvana Chausheva scored 11 times for Bulgaria. Bulgaria committed 26 mistakes, Brazil only 11.

World No. 2 Brazil needed only 42 minutes to take a comfortable 2-0 set lead (25-11, 25-11). The South Americans controlled the duel effortlessly, giving their contenders not the ghost of a chance. In the middle of the third set, Brazil coach Luizomar De Moura sent in several new players. Bulgaria tried their best to take advantage of the new Brazilian line-up, but could not pull through. Brazil cleared a Bulgarian set ball at 23-24 and never looked back.

Brazil finish on top of Pool C with a 4-0 record while Bulgaria drop to 1-3, finishing third or fourth (depending on the result Russia v USA).
