USA captain Jordan Burgess: Our play today was much better than in the last matches

Brno, Czech Republic, June 24, 2013 – USA beat Mexico in 4 set in a key battle for the qualification from Pool C

USA coach Rodney Wilde: I think that we fought better and we played with much better composure. Sometimes in previous matches we didn’t play with it as we done today. The main reason of our win was our aggressiveness. We were going after the ball and attacking. Now we go back, watch video and get everybody ready to go for the tomorrow’s match against Russia.

USA captain Jordan Burgess: Our play today was much better than in the last matches. Our team fought together very well and I’m very happy with this. We also felt the support of our fans. They were challenging us and getting us excited.

Mexico coach Estanislao Vachino: I don’t know what happened today. In the morning the team was very concentrated to win this match. Today our best players played with many mistakes and were very nervous in the important moments. I don’t think USA is stronger than us but we were only afraid of them because of our mentality.

Mexico captain Alejandra Isiordia: The team of USA is not better than us but they have much better mentality. The American girls didn’t surprise us because we trained very hard. Now we are really sad because we thought that today we could get three points to make next step in the tournament and it didn’t happen.
