Asian teams represent an attractive challenge: Vanmedegael

Korean captain Dong-Geun Jeong attempts to spike a ball against Belgium.

Mexicali, Mexico July 7 2013 - Asian teams represent an attractive challenge to many European coaches and teams. Among them Steven Vanmedegael remarked that playing against Korea was a very important test in their aspiration for the best position at classification round. 

Meanwhile, coach Kim Youngil of Korea remarked that his team could not play at their best because of some fails in their reception.

Steven Vanmedegael, coach of Belgium: “It is always nice to play against an Asian team for all the combinations they show. We found the keys in reception and in all the combinarion patterns.”

Sander Depovere, captain of Belgium: “I am so happy for this victory today. We played with a nice block and serve, after ending in the 9-16 classification round, it was great for us to finish ninth”

Jeong Dong-Geun, capitán  of Korea: “We could not show our best color, because of the strenght of our rival”

Kim Youngil, coach of Korea: “Congratulations to Belgium. Like my captain said, it was difficult for show the best of us. Our receptions in first set were not good and that was the reason we lost”.
