The coin was in the air for both teams: Licea

After five sets anybody could win. Marcelo Concha in a spike play.

Mexicali, Mexico, July 7 2013 – Mexico and Chile played one of the most spectacular matches of the classification round for places 9-16 at Mexicali State Auditorium.

On the Chilean side, Dusan Bonacic, had the chance to become the leading scorer of the whole tournament, despite his team did not finish in the top eight.

On the other Mexico showed many variations on their attack with many different players like Enrique Ugalde, Ivan Molano, Geiser Mejia, Alan Martinez and Luis Bojorquez.

The coin was in the air, according to Mexican coach Oscar Licea, whose team finished in 14th place at the competition.

Oscar Licea, coach of Mexico: "Chile played very well. In a five sets match the coin is always in the air, anybody can win. However I am so proud of my players, they did their best. They are still so young and there is still a long way to go for them.”

Daniel Nejamkin, coach of Chile: "Finishing in 13th place in a World Championship has been historically the best result for a Chilean team, after a long time out of the international scene. We feel honored.”

Mauricio Lopez, captain of Mexico: "Congratulations to Chile. We did not finished with the result that we wanted. We would like to close with a victory, but We played strong always trying to go for more. It was a bittersweet tournament, but this was a signal that We need to prepare more.”

Dusan Bonacic, captain of Chile: "Mexico put a lot of pressure on us in the beginning, specially with their serve. We struggled, but in the end we are so happy for this result and because, both teams, Mexico and Chile played a very spectacular match."
