Argentina play better in tie-breaker with Cuba

Argentina's Egar Vieira attackis down the middle against Cuba

Tijuana, Mexico, July 6, 2013 – Argentina executed the small things in the tie-breaker to win the match with Cuba of the qualification for the 6-9 positions of the FIVB Boys’U19 World Championship.

Matías Miranda, captain of Argentina: “It was a tough match. We couldn’t closer after being in front 2-0 but the in the tie-breaker we did the things a little bit much better. I am glad about this result.”

Ricardo Calvo, captain of Cuba: “I think it was a good game for both teams. We need to change the attitude on the court. The remaining match is very important for the seventh position. I wish Argentina good luck in their next contest.”

Julian Alvarez, coach of Argentina: “It was a very difficult match for both teams that were coming of painful losses on Thursday. It’s very tough to play under those conditions and that’s why the game had so many changes. We were able to close the fifth set.”

Rodolfo Sanchez, coach of Cuba: “Argentina is an excellent team and we need to learn so many things. We have the talent and the physical conditions but lack the ambition. Next time we will meet in the juniors and I hope our group can stay together with a solid work.
