Colombia coach Mauro Marasciulo: I’m very satisfied with the match even if two of the three best players of Mexico didn’t play

Colombia coach, Brazilian Mauro Marasciulo, and his captain Andrea Estrada

Brno, Czech Republic, June 29, 2013 – Colombia beat Mexico in the match for classification 13-16.

Mexico coach Estanislao Vachino: We played today with the same line-up as yesterday. Yesterday in the last three sets these girls played very well. Today we lost, unfortunately. First of all I have to say that Colombia team is on a very high level. The other factor of our loss was also our tiredness after the previous matches.

Mexico spiker Lizbeth Sainz: I think we didn’t have big problems during the match. In the first set we bounced them and played all together. In the next sets of the game we made some mistakes. We tried to play better but in the most important moments we were too nervous.

Colombia coach Mauro Marasciulo: I’m very satisfied with the match even if two of the three best players of Mexico didn’t play. That helped us a lot. It’s important to know that you always can be better and I think today it wasn’t our best game on this tournament. We played much better matches against Thailand and China in the preliminary pool. It was good for us to know the team of Mexico from the Panamerican Games. We knew how to play against them.

Colombia captain Andrea Estrada: At the beginning of the match we weren’t so concentrated. Then we began to play volleyball and scream as we use to do. We knew that we could do it and that we are better than them. Tomorrow (Sunday) in our last match versus Egypt we want to win and finish in the 13th place. Now we have just to study the Egyptian team.
