Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, August  4, 2013 - Japan ended their FIVB Girls' Youth World Championship campaign beating Serbia 3-2 (14-25, 23-25, 25-20, 25-15, 15-13) in the 5th and 6th positions match at the Girls’ U18 World Championships in Thailand.

Ichiro Hanzawa, Japan coach

“Today our players played very well today, before we came here we were preparing to get a medal. Although we can’t do that but today I am very happy because our rank finished is 5th of the tournament and our team can improve better than the previous match."

Miku Benoki , Japan captain

“We played very well today and I think our performance better than the last matches. Serbia is one of the strongest teams, they  can play very well and this was quiet hard for our team. Although we got 5th in the tournament in deep my think I believe our team could do better than this. Thank you for nice supporters from Thailand."

Marijan Boricic, Serbia Coach

“I’m very happy with this result although we lost against Japan, because we got 6th  of youth world rank in the tournament. Our team got a lot experience from this match and this competition in the tournament. In my opinion today our team play quiet well at the beginning of the game. First two sets we can play by our style and the after our player look tries and they not concentrate in the game furthermore our player are slowly. From now on, we will practice hard in order to be better in next world class tournament”

Jelena Vignjevic, Serbia Captain

“First  I congratulate on my team although we could not win the match. We were satisfied with our performance today and the final ranking. I think our team play well in beginning of the game but the after Japan can control all game and they very fast attack that is a reason why we lost against Japan. Thank you to Thailand.”
