Change is on the cards at the FIVB Girls' Under 18 World Championship
that will take place from July 26 to August 4, 2013 in the Thai city of
Nakhon Ratchasima.
For the first time ever, 20 teams will
participate in the championship, four more than in previous years. There
are now four qualification slots for the AVC, three for CAVB, four for
NORCECA, three for CSV and six for CEV. The vacancy for the host country
will be taken from the continental quota.
With the FIVB age group World Championships held every two years,
Turkey will be looking to defend their champion status having won the
previous edition in 2011 on home soil after seeing off three-time winners China in
the final while you can never write off perennial favourites Brazil who won the title in 2009 and 2005.
