Vanessa Velez, captain of Puerto Rico: "The Japanese team is very agile and they played very good defence and also their serves created problems to our reception."

Luis Garcia, coach of Puerto Rico: "I think their serves gave the victory to the Japanese. I am very satisfied with the way we played today, very equalled with Japan. The only difference were their serves."

Miya Sato, captain of Japan: "We have some concentration problems today and could not execute well. I hope we play better tomorrow and I hope to play against Turkey."

Yoshiki Ogawa, coach of Japan: "Today we had a very hard match. The Puerto Ricans have a very strong attack, especially number 5 (Sarai Alvarez) and number 13 (Daniela Bertran), and gave us some difficulties. I hope we can play better tomorrow."
